Hey Alaska Team (and followers),
Here are the VBS assignments. I'm sure you know what you are doing for VBS, but here is the others on your team. Remember, you need to have met together as a team prior to our meeting on Sunday, June 6. Come having worked through your specific ministry and be ready to demonstrate or report!

Our Alaska Team is in charge of our Sunday morning service! Come support our teens and our summer missions trip to Alaska! Service starts at 9:30am!
This is Pastor Bill and his family from Port Chilkoot Bible Church! His wife is Michelle and they have been married for 17 years. Their children are Abbie (14), Carina (12), Seth (10) and Ellie (4). I don't know about you but I can't wait to meet them all and serve their church and community!
Hello All,
Yesterday, Pastor Ben and I had a fantastic conversation with Pastor Bill Diggins of Port Chilkoot Bible Church of Haines Alaska. This is the church we will be ministering with while in Alaska this summer.
The town of Haines is around 2,200 people. It is a stop on the route of some tour boats and so has a tourist section during the summer. However, there hasn't been a missions team in to this church in a number of years. Pastor Bill has been at the church for a year and a half and has attracted younger families to a more elderly congregation. They have a High School group of around 12 students and a J-High group of between 15-20 students.
They are excited about us coming and can't wait to partner with us in ministry. Be praying for the people of Haines, the Port Chilkoot Bible Church, and our team as we make preparations for this incredible trip.

God works in mysterious ways!
First thing Thursday morning I received an e-mail from Brian Aaby, the director of YouthMark, to tell me that the contact in Sitka fell through. The churches in Sitka were joining together with an incoming mission team to put on a Sports Camp the week after we would have been there. They decided that it wasn't a good fit to do both.
3 hours later, Brian Aaby calls me to tell me that we just had been given the green light by Port Chilkoot Bible Church in Haines Alaska! The church is totally excited about us coming and gave a resounding thumbs up to bringing our team in!
Haines is a city of around 2000 people and will be a fantastic fit for our team. What I am most excited about is the fact that they have not had a missions team come in since around the 90's! We have fresh and fertile soil that is primed and ready for the Gospel and a church that is ready to jump in with both feet!
God is good!
So, for all those who are following our team, be in prayer for the people of Haines. We appreciate your support and your prayers.

Last Sunday we had the 2nd of our training meetings. Let me tell you, we have a fantastic team going to Alaska!
We will be posting VBS assignments as soon as I meeting with Summer and Callie (our VBS directors).
Also, be praying for our ministry site. It is looking like we will be going to Sitka! Pray that God will prepare the way and place us at a great church that we can partner with in the ministry.
Thanks for your prayer and support!
Hello Alaska Team,
Here are the prayer requests we shared at our last meeting. Keep these in prayer!

Many of you viewing this blog are praying for, or financially supporting a student on our Mission: Alaska 2010 trip. Thank you so much for your support. The student you are supporting is currently working very hard on their preparation for this trip. They will also be growing a lot as a result of this trip. So we thank you for helping make this happen. Keep checking back to this page often for updates on our team! God bless.
Hello Team Alaska,
As you are reading this, we are having our first Team Training Meeting! I am so excited to be on this trip with you. I chose each of you for this trip, as I have seen God working in your lives and desire to see that on a greater scale. Be ready to work hard. But, also be ready for God to do things in your life you haven't even dreamed of yet! There is nothing like serving the Savior!
This is a fantastic team and will be an incredible trip.
