We were beginning to think we would never see rain again, until it started raining with thunder and lightning for maybe five minutes. But it rumbled really loud. Everyone was scared.

  • Tuesday in Plains continued... :)

I'm back!!!! I want to start out by saying that my team and I thank you for all your prayers! They have been a HUGE blessing! And some things we would love prayer for are allergies, asthma and injuries. Allergies are higher than ever here! Causing some team members to sit out from some activities :( And we have had some minor injuries from cutting all that wood from our service project. Prayers for saftey as we head out to another service project in a few hours. Again, involving wood. And last but not least, prayers that God would transform and mold our hearts along with the youth group here in Montana.

The VBS has already changed my heart as well as others on the team. Being able to watch the kids grow not only in physical skills while playing B-ball or soccer, but watching them grow spiritually has inspired me. Leading the kids in silly songs has been amazing. Bringing me back to when I was their age and having a relationship with God on a best friend basis. It's challenging me to keep that relationship with him, a Friend that I can always go to along with remembering that He's my personal Lord and Savior.

We have all had a blast this week. Thanks to Pastor Todd, Chad, Cathy, and all the kids here in Plains Montana! I want to thank everyone once again for all the prayers for strength as we are all tired. It's been awesome keeping you guys updated! See you guys when we get home!

  • Tuesday in Plains

Wow! What a week so far! Everyone on the team is having a blast, even though we have gotten about 7-8 hours of sleep each night. Waking up bright and early in the morning, running around with grade schoolers for 2 hours. Taking a short break for lunch, and on to the service project. Chad has us working like we've never worked before! Then we spend time in the park, more running. Worship and family time, the average night winds down at about 11:30.

It has been an amazing experience to get to know the kids involved in the 1st church of God, Plains Montana. Challenging each other to grow deeper and deeper in our faith ,and woking with each other in the VBS, and having friendly competitions while playing Ulitimate Frisbee, we've been getting to know the kids as friends rather than aquiatances. Has truly been an amazing experience!

Well it's getting pretty late, and unka Chad says it's time for bed. So I will be up bright and early in the morning to tell you more about how God has been blessing us, while challenging us at the same time. And all the fun things we've been doing!

                                 -Leah Mosier!!! :D

  • Catching Up!

Sorry that I didn't get a chance to update everyone about Sunday and Monday. We've had some really FULL, but BLESSED days!

Sunday morning we had breakfast at the Church. Then, Tyler M. taught the second session of Gospel Journey Maui for the teen Sunday school. He's been doing a great job!

Then Lucas, Molly, Natalie and Victoria helped lead songs during the worship service and did an excellent job along with Jina, Robin and Dane from FCG.

After service, we went to Heather's country kitchen for breakfast/lunch, mmmm!

It wasn't long after that we were going over our Sports Camp materials for Monday and coordinating with the team here at FCG as to what our first day would look like.

Right after that, Tyler was teaching the 3rd session of Gospel Journey Maui and then some of the ladies prepared dinner for us! (Chicken, rice, potatoes salad...)

Then again, it was back to Gospel Journey Maui for the 4th Session. Tyler really got a work-out on Sunday...

The youth here at FCG really like games, as do the students at HCC. So, we all went down to the park for a few rounds of Capture the flag and ultimate Frisbee, then it was back to the Church for songs, prayer and family time.

    park games

(There is so much more than all of this going on, it's hard to hit on everything, so I'm giving you a really brief overview. Sports camp starts in less than an hour, and the guys are having a hard time getting up, because they are trying to get the most out out of each day. The gals are doing better at getting up in the mornings!)

Monday morning many of the students were up doing "RoadGrip", their daily devotionals, and eating breakfast getting ready for a new day.

Before we knew it, Sports Camp had started and we were off! ALL of the students really poured themselves out, and children had a great time learning about God, and some new sports skills to boot also!

The kids acted out a short bible story. She is a very heavy prayer.

After that we had a short break, and then went to the lunch program, (at the park), put on by the town for all students K-12. We had the opportunity to had out flyers for VBS, and meet a few more people while we were there.

Then it was off to split and stack firewood for one of the senior members at FCG. The students went through about a cord and a half of wood. And we will we still have a cord and half to do today.

    woodchucks

When we got back, the students had a short break to go into town and look around. It was very hot, and there weren't many people hanging out. But, they did get a chance to buy some ice cream and other goodies while they were there.

Lucas and Tyler Hernandez unintentionally wore matching shirts while in town.

    lucas tyler matching

Then it was back to the Church, for sloppy joe's and session four of Gospel Journey Maui, a short break, then FCG students joined us for some songs and prayer time.

Originally I had planned on giving the students the night off from the park, because our first two nights at the park, there wasn't a lot of activity. The mosquitoes get pretty bad at night and most people stay in doors. (Games pretty much consisted of FCG and HCC students.)

     bug spray

We still had a few that wanted to go to the park, but when Pastor Todd mentioned that a Group of Mormon students were there playing ultimate, most of the group decided to go down and join them. Everyone had a great time, once again! And there are plans to play with then again starting Wednesday.

Back to the Church for family time, where I was overwhelmed with the positive responses from what everyone took away from the day. I have to cut this short, and get something to eat before everything starts!

    Prayer requests:

A few of the team member have been really congested since we got on the east side of the Cascades, especially Lucas. Please pray for health and energy, even though most of it is allergies.

The Spirit of unity and enthusiasm that we have enjoyed has been so prevalent throughout the team and the people at here at FCG.

Continued opportunities to share our faith and the reason why we're Plains, MT.

    More updates coming soon!

  • 3 Hours and Counting!

    Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to give you a few updates before we leave this afternoon.

    1. Wow, we still have support letters coming in!

    2. That means we won’t be settling any of your accounts until after we get back from Montana. So, don’t worry about bringing any payments with you today.

    3. I checked the weather forecast for our week in Plains, and we’re only supposed to have one day of scattered showers. The rest of the time it supposed to be sunny and temperatures should be ranging from the high 40’s to low 80’s. (That’s funny, reminds be of some other place I know…)

    4. The Gee’s were kind enough to create a team T-shirt for us while we are away. So, if you don’t already have yours, we have one for you here at the Church. (I’m suggesting a $10 donation for each shirt, to compensate them for their efforts.) This will give us a second team T-shirt to wear, which is especially important since we will be running a sports camp, and this will help us to stand out as staff.

    5. Parents, I am encouraging you to follow along with us in your “Homebase” devotional guides. Please start tomorrow, and pray not only for your student(s), but the entire team also, Thanks! (The students will be starting their “RoadGrip” devotional guides as well.)

    More coming soon!

  • We Leave Tomorrow!

Hey this is just a reminder that we need to be on the road tomorrow by

    2 PM.

If you’re not going with us, please be praying for our travel to Rathdrum, ID, and the launch that is taking place there. We’ll be updating the Blog everyday once we get into Plains, MT.

  • We Have Our Town!

    Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to let you know that I received a call from "Buzz" at Youthmark while I was away at the staff retreat. He informed me that we will be going to "Plains, MT" and working with Pastor "Todd" and his community this summer.

My first talk with Pastor Todd will be tomorrow. So, please pray for us as we seek the Lord's direction, and what our week of ministry will look like when we're there this summer.

More info coming soon! Please keep all the details of this trip in your prayers!

  • Keep Praying!

    Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to remind us all to keep praying for God's hand to lead us, (and Youthmark), as we seek to do ministry this summer. We have another possibility in Plains, MT, at this time. So, keep on praying, so that we may become a people of prayer!
