Right now I am sitting by the wave pool enjoying a few relaxing moments before we head home. I am reflecting on our trip, students, and the time that we have spent on this misssions trip. I wanted to make sure every parent who reads this blog understands how incredible their children are! These students were incredible missionaries and fantastic examples of what it means to be a follower of Christ. To all parents of these students, thank you!!!!!! These students are such a privelage to serve. Miel and I are so thankfuld to be at Sound Life. We love you all and can't wait to share with you all that God has done and will do in the future! See you all tonight! Nate and Miel

We landed in Spokane! The bus did great, the students are doing fantastic, and were now in service at our hub in Spokane. We are about to break up in prayer groups and then have our last family time of the trip. Please prayer for God to minister tonight in and through our students. We love you all! Nate

Hey! Our team has really felt and appreciated all of your prayers thus far. We have had an amazing week here, and are experiencing God like never before. One thing that has been a true blessing for a few of us was the opportunity to help a family pack up and move. On Monday, a group of 7 of us went out to the town to meet people and invite them to the park that night. Austin, Dalton, Meghan, Courtney, Shelby, Mariah and I were apart of this group. As we were walking down the street we noticed a lady trying to pack amidst wrangling 4 young children. We offered to help and didnt know what an amazing experience this would be! The family is apart of a Latter Day Saints church, and the husband was in the hospital helping out a family who's father was dying of cancer. The two oldest girls were 9 year old twins. One of them suffers with a disease called Alopecia, which means that when she gets stressed, her brain doesnt transmit correctly. As a result, her hair and nails fall out. The family has to make bi-weekly trips to Missoula, MT to get her treatments, and that is about a 2 hour trip one way. Needless to say, this family could really use our help. Madison is 7 years old and she loves to talk! She was a true joy and loved serving alongside us! Aeron is a 4 year old who loves Disney! The first day, Monday, we spent about 3 hours loading over two-hundred boxes. The next day we went back and loaded all the boxes and alot of furniture into 7 trucks and trailors. We were also able to bless them by washing the cars! On Wednesday we continued to pack and moved boxes. Thursday we started deep cleaning the house. There arent any local exterminators in Thompson Falls, so alot of the deep cleaning included removing animals and bugs from the house! What a humbling experience! Friday we finished deep cleaning and were able to almost completely move out the family! The family blessed us by feeding us a surprise lunch on Friday! As a team, it was amazing to watch the progress of the move and the transformation of the home after we cleaned it. As a leader, it was fun and humbling to get dirty with the students and be in there with them! It was also awesome to watch the student's willingness to get in there and serve whole heartedly! What an amazing group of students we have in this ministry! Throughout the week Mike and Clayton were able to join in on the move as well! The hearts of these students are incredible, and it has been a true honor to work with Pastor Nate and Miel to help lead these students! The heart transformations have been significant and we are so bonded as a team. Cant wait to share more experiences when we get home! See you all later :) Thank you for the prayers!

    God Bless,

    Shelley

Hello peeps! So far I've had a wonderful week in Montana. I have seen God do some wonderful things through the students that have participated in this mission trip. God has done many great things this week, and this experience has just been amazing. As usual I was pretty beast at everything I did............... but one thing I have learned on this trip is to be humble. This has been life changing. I will see you all soon!

  • Final Day of VBS

I can't believe it's Friday. This trip has gone by so fast! I am so greatful for all the great things God has done this week. I have already heard people say that they are going to miss Thompson Falls and a few of them said they want to stay the rest of the summer! (Don't worry will bring them all back) This afternoon we will be going through out the town and washing cars for free as a way to connect with the people in the town. Please pray for safety and for the students to be bold in their faith. Then for another outreach tonight we are going to send some students up to the high school to pass out water and talk with the students who are coming out of football and vollyball practice.

Thank you again for all your prayers and comments on the blog, we love you all!

    Hi!!

Well, I guess lots of things have happened since the beginning of the trip. So, I'll start with some of the things God has been doing in my life. I was given the opportunity to lead worship for the very first time. At first, i was just going to sing back up with the worship leader here, but he asked me to lead a song. Then he asked me to lead the whole thing! I was excited and afraid at the same time. The next day in practice, it wasn't flowing well and I could'nt figure out what to do, but then I asked Clayton to sing and play the guitar. It worked out perfectly! We were on the same page and he totally covered the chord stuff etc. It just proved to me that Jesus had my back. It seems like each time I lead, I learn something new . I feel like I have so much more to grow, and I' excited!

Other stuff: God has been moving in awesome ways, and OH YEAH.... I climbed a mountian-a short mountain, and I almost got hit by a train!! and attacted by killer dogs/deer. lol . Got over my fear of hiking, and trying out new sports

The VBS has been awesome. we do a little pharoh pharoh, music freeze, and dance skits. Its been a lot of fun.

    Sorry for errors, im tired

Well it all started on the the first day in Montana. We were working at the festival and this girl came up talking to me and Les. She was opening up her heart up to me. Well the rest of that story is in the other blog. Well Day Camp (VBS) is going great. God is really workin in those kids lives. Today was about Jesus dying on the cross and i asked some pretty good questions and they had the right anwser each time. It was great. What i have learned on this trip the most is to trust God 100%. I need to work on that and i am. So pray for me. Love you ALL!

this whole missions trip expirience has been so amazing. to start this blog off ill start with last night. last night i led worship along with shayna for the first time with people who i didnt know. it was such an amazing expirience. after the time at the power park spending time with some kids from the town we came back to the church. every night we have had "family time" which is time where we get together as a group( everyone from washington) and we spend time connecting and getting to know eachother but also we added some worship, and last night right before the family time nate talked to shayna and I about really just waitng for the holy spirit in worship and to not rush, and to listen to what God is telling us. last night the holy spirit showed up, and it was the most amazing thing that has happened. everyone just worshiped God with all their hearts and God really showed himself to us. it was a great expirience. also a group of us have been helping a mormon family down the road from the church pack thier house because they are moving. it has been great to build a realtionship with this family and to really show them Gods love through our acts of service.  this morning. i was asked to go to a a ranch ( which is like a boys teen challenge) and i gave my testimony. i was real nervous at first along with jacob. we both werent sure about how it would go. but as we rode to the ranch with the senior pastor of gospel mountain we became more confident. when we got there the atmosphere was realxed and we got to talk to 5 teenaged boys about our testimony. it was such a great expirience and a time where i can get used to talking about my story with people my age. it gives me alot of confidence to go to my school and not hold back anything. after the amazing time at the ranch i got to help do some maitenancecleaning at the church which felt amazing to serve. i then swam in the river for a little. after that i led worship again at the power park and it is the most amazing thing. i just feel i have really been called to just worship God. and to help others by leading them in worship! i know God has something amazing in my life and i just cant wait to get started with what he has planned for me!

P.S. i miss you family! i love you mom, dad, quinton, preston, ronan, oma, sandra, dominique, darren danielle, and everyone!!!!!! thanks for you support!!!

Acts 2:17 In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people, your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams. (NIV)

Last night during family time we had an incredible move of the Holy Spirit during worship. God spoke through Caleb and told us that He would never leave us, we would never have to be alone, and the God is always there. The power of God touched so many students last night. It was incredible. Shayna and Clayton led us in worship and I was so proud of them. They led us into the presence of God through worship and the students responded to the moving of the Holy Spirit in a fresh new way. Clayton shared his new song with the group and God moved through his new song. It was incredible.

Today, we are all trying to wake up!!!! Please pray for strength today. We would also like people to pray for the people we have been ministering to this last week and that we would be able to minister to even more people today.

    Thanks for your prayers!
