I made my way south to Crouch after a wonderful afternoon in Cascade on Tuesday. Upon my arrival I immediately witnessed a crowd of 3-5 guys hanging out at the newly installed half-pipe skateboard ramp. Calvary Chapel South built this, transported it and is giving it to the Calvary Chapel Garden Valley! What a gift! In addition, they purchased a skateboard to give to the church to use as an outreach tool as well.
The team here was doing great. They have very limited communication with cell-phones and internet, thus the lack of postings from their team leaders. We know and trust that people are still praying because there is so much going on in Crouch.
While there, the team made the decision to stay through the 4th rather than joining the other teams in Spokane for the group debrief. Pastor Ernest had asked Joe and Mike to consider sticking around for the huge community party on the 4th, he had been trying for years to make an impact on the community--he thinks this just might be the year with the increased man (and Spirit) power!
Please pray for the communities of Crouch and Garden Valley and specifically the impact of the two Calvary Churches on the 4th of July!
I have posted some pics from my time with the team below.
Grace,
Brian
Hello friends of Youthmark! This is the Youthmark Staff Blog. We are a unique team with nearly 50 years combined Youth Ministry experience (but can you guess which one is the oldest?).
Brian Aaby (center) is the Founder and President of Youthmark. He will blog about all things Youthmark.
Kirk Petersen (right) is a Regional Director over Oregon and SW Washington. Kirk will be leading several of the Launches and will blog about some of the "coaching" he gets to do in preparing leaders for these trips and living out mission at home.
Aaron Bauer (left) is a Youthmark Mission Consultant and a live-in-the-flesh Youth Pastor. Aaron gives us a strong "on the ground" presence and can blog about how missionship is lived out before, during and after a trip.
